I figured out where McGowan got all of her odd Leonardo theories, including the "remember John" gesture from. I'm currently reading this book about Mary Magdalene by Lynn Picknet, and the stuff in there is almost word for word what she put in the book. One of my initiation-mates saw my rosary and apparently he too is a devotee of the Magdalene!! As well as a good friend of his.

I told him that we all need to get together and do rituals for her.

Omgs. And I was just complaining that I knew of no one in my area, and here someone was, a friend of mine, RIGHT UNDER MY NOSE!

I've had a very intense weekend--two initiations in one day. Some days I think that I'm a spiritual masochist. I had a seriously wonderful time however, and truly feel reborn. It's an awesome feeling.

I just had two new Magdalene books arrive in the mail yesterday. I'll have to give my opinion on each when I'm done reading them.

I am now a priestess of Mary Magdalene in the Order of Mary Magdala.

Currently rereading Starbird's Women with the Alabaster Jar. Lots of really interesting stuff in there on sacred symbology that I love. They teach some of that in the Golden Dawn, but anyone looking at a Fire triangle and a Water triangle and thinking about things like male and female symbology...of course the Star of David is a symbol of union ( Read more... )

Sad that it took me...what...3-4 years? to finish my studies. But hey, once the Magdalene has ya, you do what you're supposed to eventually.
